Getting good grades & test scores requires more than finding the right study materials and tutor; the seminal virtue of any true scholar is the rigor with which he works when no one is looking. But what does studying well look like?

A-level studying requires the following: a dedicated work space that is well lit; a daily habit of spending time there with no distractions; a sense of levity and perspective; a well-organized game plan with attention to appropriate resources; a study partner (sometimes); and familial support and encouragement (always). Studying well is an artful skill that can be taught & reinforced, and is often the missing link in a student's academic chain of success.
