Executive Function
“Executive Function” is a suite of skills essential for ANY student of ANY age.
The term “Executive Function” includes such crucial brain processes as decision making, time management, focus, and self-regulation. This suite of skills is essential for ANY student of ANY age– and it is not taught in school.
Underdeveloped Executive Function skills are at the root of many students’ academic struggles. Unfortunately, many students (and their families) have trouble locating resources to understand EF and conquer their challenges inside & outside the classroom using EF skills.
What is Executive Functioning Coaching?
It’s not always easy to identify when your child is struggling with Executive Function skills. Sometimes you’ll perceive their actions as indicating laziness, but really it’s that the student is currently lacking the skills to complete tasks efficiently. Executive Function issues can affect a student both inside and out of school and may be attributed to anxiety and ADHD issues.
BrainStorm coaches support the development and strengthening of Executive Functioning skills, establish goals, identify challenges, and find the connection between academic issues and Executive Function weaknesses.
